Soccer Routes Intramural League
A supplemental educational experience for our players ages 5 through 12.
Weekend enrollment required for all league players.
NOW ENROLLING- Fall season beginning September 2024.
Soccer Routes is bringing evolution and modernization to youth soccer in Los Angeles! After listening to your feedback for the past 8 years, we're excited to announce our own private intramural league for ages 5 and up. (Age 5 time slot is 4pm only, 6 and up can play in any time slot.)
We want to transform how kids learn, enjoy and most importantly are educated in soccer development. We're all about focusing on player development and learning holistically, not just winning. In the age range of 6-12 (our league ages), players should be getting as many touches as possible. The game night(s) will supplement your weekend session.
We follow the FIFA rules of soccer, promote healthy educated competition, and offer an unparalleled learning experience. No more unfair or bending of the rules or amateur βcoachesβ.
In our league, there's no more yelling from the sidelines or putting negative pressure on kids when theyβre in the stage of soccer development where failure and figuring out errors should be theirs on the field, with guidance from an informed coach and not a parent or volunteer.
We maintain a positive community atmosphere, and if someone breaks the rules, they're out. To ensure quality, players must be part of our weekend educational program to join our weekday league and minimum 70% attendance is required.
Register now and give your child the chance to learn, grow, and thrive both on and off the field in an environment that truly cares about their long term development.

Coach Adams vision for Soccer Routes league:
Youth soccer needed a fresh perspective.
People used to follow a rigid model of progression: first, a mass franchise program, then volunteer / parent recreational leagues, and then finally on to club soccer.
This approach is outdated because true learning should start earlier, way before club level. We propose a new path: Soccer Routes Developmental program for pre and middle school kids (ages 2-12), followed by basic club soccer (12+), and then opportunities like ODP/MLS Next (13+). Think of us like pre and middle school as the foundations and club as high school β you wouldn't send your child to high school too early.
We want to emphasize player development over winning, echoing the words of Arsene Wenger, Chief of Global Football Development at FIFA. Yelling at young players has gone too far and needs change. The tradition of parents coaching from the sidelines and shouting at kids during games is outdated and harmful. It not only hinders player growth but also damages the spirit of the game. It's time for a modern, nurturing, educational approach. Player centric focus is vital.
We've always led the way with a growth mindset and a commitment to real change. Many companies use these words but don't follow through, or use it for shamelessly catching dollars. Now, let's discuss the negative consequences of yelling in youth soccer, like damaging self-esteem and undermining the learning process.
To embrace a modern approach, we must prioritize development over winning, nurture emotional intelligence, empower decision-making, and promote respect and sportsmanship. It's time to leave yelling behind and create a more inclusive and supportive environment where young soccer players can learn, grow, and thrive in a sport they love.
